23 Nov ‘Sustainability Now!’ Day
Last Wednesday 16th November we dedicated the day to looking at sustainability. The day was launched with an assembly delivered by Siri and Hepzi, from The Garden Classroom, based in Gillespie Park.
They introduced the children to the manifesto: Sustainability is meeting our needs without hurting our world.
We looked at five big problems: energy, water, travel, purchase power and waste, and three big solutions: Think global. Act local. Get involved.
After this assembly the children took part in a range of activities to explore these themes, including sessions led by our visitors.
Our school council planned a sustainable lunch and harvested vegetables and herbs from our school garden to be used in recipes.
