Science throughout the school aims to allow children a hands on approach to science learning. This is underpinned with a clear understanding of scientific vocabulary and how to use it. Children are also encouraged to ask lots of questions, understanding that they might not have answers straight away.
As basic scientific knowledge increases, so we would expect to see children connecting up their knowledge and starting to make predictions about what may happen in different situations, drawing parallels with previous learning.
The aim is to develop children to be able to plan and carry out experiments to answer their own questions.
