At Pooles Park we take part in a variety of enrichment projects across the school. Year 5 pupils have taken part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival twice so far, producing performances of Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. This year Year 5 are taking part again and working on their performance of Macbeth. This provides our pupils with an opportunity to expand their knowledge of Shakespeare by performing in front of a live theatre audience.
The Shakespeare Festival
Each year at Pooles Park, our Year 5 children take part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival. The children spend months preparing to perform in a professional theatre. They ‘use the unique power of performance to develop self-esteem, articulacy, literacy and teamwork; skills that transform lives.’
