31 Mar Letter from the Headteacher
Dear Parents
It has been lovely to have all the children back in school for nearly a month now. The children are happy and learning well.
The situation with covid is improving rapidly. After Easter, I want to maintain our excellent record of staying open. We will therefore still have bubbles to maintain social distancing and we will all wear masks when in the playground. These measures have been extremely effective. We have only had one known case of covid within the school which was before Christmas. Most schools have had many cases and have been sending bubbles home on a regular basis.
By the May half-term, I hope that we can relax these measures.
The Easter holiday is a great opportunity for children to spend as much time outside as possible. Physical exercise is not just good for the body. Children’s brains develop better when they are physically active. It is also important to get vitamin D from sunlight. If your child is tired and irritable, this could be due to a lack of vitamin D. Get them outside more and you are likely to see a big improvement!
MyOn Reader and Mathletics are always available for your child to access. They are particularly good as the child gets feedback on how well they are doing. Teachers will not be responding to work during the holiday. As the children have missed being at school this year, I would recommend spending an hour a day on the activities. Some children may wish to do more.
I hope you all have a great holiday and I look forward to seeing you in the summer term .
