12 Sep Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II
Dear Parents,
It is with deep sadness that we commemorate the passing of our late sovereign, Queen Elizabeth II. The thoughts and condolences of all the staff at Pooles Park are with the Queen’s family, as we join with people throughout the world mourning her loss. We remember with gratitude and affection the Queen’s lifetime of dedicated service and extraordinary and unfailing commitment to duty throughout her reign.
Teachers have spent time in class talking to the children about this news. We also had a special assembly to commemorate the life of her majesty.
The school was fortunate to receive a visit from Queen Elizabeth II in 1967 (see photo above). In 2018 a group of children from Pooles Park met the Queen when they visit the Coram charity. She stopped and spoke to the children.
Pooles Park Primary School will be closed on Monday 19th September, which has been confirmed as a bank holiday. This is the official date of the State Funeral.
