PSHCE and PE
The PSHE curriculum includes units of work on identity, physical and mental health and wellbeing, sex and relationship education, financial capability, drug, alcohol and tobacco education and cooking.
At Pooles park there are many opportunities to develop team building skills through participation in Sporting events, school journey and projects such as the Shakespeare Schools Festival.
Philosophy for children is an approach used across the school to support the children’s thinking, reasoning and questioning. This in turn contributes to the children’s cognitive, social and emotional development. Children learn how to think and communicate well and to think better for themselves.
The children have a rich offer of PE including dance, gymnastics, games, swimming and sessions with specialist sports coaches. Our PE curriculum provides opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities develop character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
